About the Cambodian psilocybe cubensis strain:

Discovered by renowned John Allen close to the Angkor Wat Temples in Cambodia and the country’s capital city of Phnom Phen. Together with a coworker, he selected the best and fastest growing mycelium to produce this strain. It is unclear if the strain known as Cambodia is an Angkor Wat or Phnom Phen cross; it is simply named Cambodia. Mondo Grow Kit Cambodian Mushrooms

Since 1999, the Cambodia mushroom strain has been farmed, used, and sold. This is the type of mushroom you would have seen in Amsterdam prior to the prohibition on fresh mushrooms.

Some Cambodian Cubensis Facts:

Origin: South Asia, Cambodia
Cap: 20–70 mm; as the mushroom ages, it turns from brown to copper brown.
Stem: 40-125 mm, a medium-sized stem that is overly big. bursts turn blue-green when touched.
Dark purple-brown spores.Basidia 4-spored, subellipsoid, 1.5–17 x 8–11 µm

New Mondo® Cambodian Magic Mushroom grow kits are the outcome of years of development and testing. The Mondo® Grow Kit in Cambodia is now even better than ever. The following features make the second version of Psilocybe cubensis Mondo® Cambodia Grow Kit superior to the first:

*some strains produce more flushes than others. The first three flushes are the largest.

The Psilocybe cubensis Mondo® Cambodia Magic Mushroom grow kit is slightly different than the grow kits you might have used before. This is seen only in the substrate recipe and is a secret not just shared with everyone. Not even with us!

Just like the previous and other easy grow kits, you do not need to use additional spores. During the laboratory process, the spores have developed into mycelium inside the substrate (the cake) in the grow box. The mycelium has fully colonized the substrate and is ready to grow mushrooms.

 

How to store the grow kit correctly

It is recommended to start the cultivation process right away. If you decide to start growing later, you may store the grow kit in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) for 2 weeks. First, wrap the grow kit in a plastic shopping bag and close it well.

 

Contents of your Magic Mushroom Kit

• 1 grow box – This contains substrate with active mycelium (the cake)
• 1 grow bag – The bag has a micron filter to keep contaminants out
• 1 paperclip – For closing the grow bag.

• Misting Bottle – Misting is needed for the humidity level
• Potable water – For misting and soaking
• Clean environment – Work clean to give other fungi and bacteria (micro organisms) no chance to contaminate.

How to prepare the room and yourself before you begin

• Seal off any ajar windows. Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ Magic Mushroom grow kit contamination may occur from microbes carried in by wind or draft.
• Place the grow box with the cake on a sanitized surface after removing it from the carton box. Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ Magic Mushroom grow kit germs can stick to the grow box and grow inside if this surface is not clean, contaminating the grow box.
• Make sure your hands and arms are clean when working. When handling the kit, we advise using surgical gloves or a good disinfectant. To prevent breathing onto the cake and into the grow bag, wear a facemask.

 

Commencing the procedure

1. Add potable water that is fresh to the box. Allow the grow box to fully submerge for a full day.
2. Pour the extra water out of the grow box after 12 hours.
3. Inside the grow bag, place the grow box. The bag’s open end ought to face upward.
4. Take off the grow box’s lid. After rinsing the lid, put it back in the carton box.
5. Twice fold the grow bag’s open end; do not cover the micron filter.
6. To keep the bag closed, place the paperclip on the fold. The grow kit for Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ magic mushrooms is now prepared for cultivation.
7. Inside the carton box, place the Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ Magic Mushroom grow kit on top of the ziploc bag with cover.

Temperature

24°C is the optimal temperature. Make sure the temperature doesn’t go below 18°C or above 29°C. You can use a Thermo Heatingmat to maintain the perfect temperature and prevent it from falling below eighteen degrees Celsius. In the winter and in the coldest parts of the world, a thermo mat is an absolute necessity.

 

Light

Light is all that is needed for the Psilocybe cubensis Mundo® Cambodia Magic Mushroom Grow Kit’s mycelium to “understand” that it has reached the surface. Mushrooms will grow only then. It is more than sufficient to have a few hours each day of indirect sunshine or fluorescent/artificial light. Avoid letting the sun beam directly on the grow kit as it may kill the mycelium.

 

Water / Misting

You start with misting the day after you start the procedure. Take the paperclip off to open the grow bag. Spray once against each side of the bag rather than directly onto the cake. Thus, you mist four times a day. Additionally, misting allows new oxygen to enter the bag. Use the paperclip to reclose the bag as soon as it has stopped misting.

 

Mushrooms

The first little mushrooms, called pins, should appear in 5 to 16 days if all the right circumstances are met. It also depends on the level of strain. Different cubensis strains grow at different rates.

 

Flushes

The mushrooms appear in clusters. This group could be tiny or large. Depending on the tension, yes. This kind of growth is referred to as a flush. It is rare for mushrooms to be ripe all at once. A kit can be used for multiple flushes. The greatest flushes occur during the first two. More flushes will follow, but they will be smaller than the first.

 

Picking

Picking mushrooms when the veil between the hat and the stem has just torn indicates that they are ripe. Do not delay any longer. If possible, wash your hands, wrists, and arms. Wear surgical gloves. Select the ripe mushrooms while leaving the others to grow. Grasping the mushroom base with your thumb and index finger, you may remove the mushrooms from the cake. Gently turn your hand clockwise until the mushroom releases its hold. Never remove the mushrooms by hand. This could potentially harm or even kill the mycelium. Once the majority of the larger mushrooms have been harvested, proceed to harvest the smaller ones along with the pins.

 

Growing mushrooms from the sides

Where there is less penetrating resistance and light penetration, mushrooms flourish. The light beaming on the sides of the cake may encourage the growth of mushrooms. This is difficult to argue against and is permissible. To keep the edges of the grow box dark, some growers wrap aluminum foil around them, but this isn’t always effective.

There are mushrooms that can be plucked right before the kit is soaked.

pristine hands After removing the grow box from the bag, invert it onto the palm of your other hand. To get the cake to fall onto your hand, wiggle the plastic box. You can set the plastic box on a surface that has been cleaned. You can now pick the mushrooms from the cake’s sides with this free hand. Once every mushroom has been harvested, return the cake to its original location within the plastic box and proceed with the soaking step.

Soaking

You set up the gear for the following flush once all the mushrooms have been harvested. Re-entering the grow bag, remove the grow box using gloves or clean hands. Add potable water that is fresh to the box. Remove the ziploc bag’s lid, then use it to shut the grow box. The closed grow box should be wrapped in a clean plastic shopping bag or placed inside a soaking bag. Put it in the refrigerator (2°C to 8°C) for 12 hours after tightly closing it. We refer to this as the soaking process. The cake will now be saturated with water, readying it for the subsequent flush.

You can hang the grow bag with the micronfilter upside down to dry during the soaking process. To ensure that no microbes can access the bag, hang it upside down. After each flush, many growers would rather use brand-new, unused grow bags.

Take the soaking bag and grow box out of the refrigerator and unpack it after 12 hours.

 

Next Flush

To proceed, carry out steps 3 through 7 exactly as you did the previous time around. A fresh flush will emerge a few days later. Grow kits for Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ magic mushrooms provide at least two or three flushes. A kit can yield more flushes if you are an expert cultivator.

 

The end

A Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ Magic Mushroom grow kit can be thrown away when no more mushrooms sprout from it after the second flush, which should happen at least three weeks later.A different fungus or bacteria has infected the grow kit, as shown by the color shift. No more mushrooms will grow out of the Psilocybe cubensis ‘Cambodia’ Magic mushroom grow kit and the grow kit should be put away in the rubbish outside.

 

Spores

The mushrooms will release their spores when it is too late for you to harvest them. The spores will cause the cake and the mushrooms to turn black or purple (some other cubensis strains turning red or brown). It just doesn’t seem very attractive, but it’s not really an issue. In addition to disintegrating, mushrooms also begin to break down when they release their spores. You’ll lose some of the strength of the mushrooms.
